A material that will undergo, or has undergone, a chemical reaction (different from a thermoplastics physical reaction) by the action of heat, catalysts, ultraviolet light, etc. Once the plastic becomes hard, additional heat will not change it back into a liquid as would be the case with a thermoplastic.
